Recognizing Accelerated Math Potential in Underrepresented People

Ramp Up is a partnership between North Carolina State University colleges of Engineering and Education, Shaw University and the Wake County Public School System. Undergraduate and graduate students from engineering, mathematics, and mathematics education at North Carolina State University and Shaw University are assisting your child's teacher to develop and implement inquiry-based mathematics lessons. "Inquiry-based" instruction features hands-on lessons that actively engage students in exploring real world application of mathematics. The instructional lessons permit students to address their own questions about mathematics in the learning process. We are excited about this partnership and believe this project will make a significant contribution to students' interest in and success with mathematics.
