Reading - to increase the number of students scoring at Level 3 and 4
  • Implement and consistly use a school-wide (K-5) reading program that enhances differentiation.
  • Increase self-esteem of African-American females by raising their level of proficiency in reading skills
Math - Females in grades 3-5 will achieve high growth on EOG
  • Increase differentiation in instruction and assignments
  • Implement Washington Wizards Math Program in grades 3-5
Writing - to increase the number of students scoring at Level 3 and 4
  • Reorganize instructional services, Accelerated Learning Program, electives, and Language Enrichment Time to better facilitate student writing growth
  • Provide school-wide writing instruction based on best practices
  • Use targeted interventions specifically to strengthen conventions
Healthy Students in Safe, Orderly and Caring Schools
  • Review students' concerns based on the student survey results
  • Provide opportunities to increase the integration of character traits through all subject areas
  • Improve the quality of physical education and individual interactions during recess time.
Family, Community, and Business Support
  • Develop partnerships with businesses and non-profit organizations to provide resources for the school
  • Enhance communication between the school and community
  • Increase base-parent participation in school activities
Achievement Goal - Ensure that the school staff has the understanding and capacity to create a healthy school and a healthy environment for supporting the retention of high quality employees
  • Routinely review teacher retention data and take action if needed
  • Routinely review the support provided for Initially Licensed Teachers by mentor teachers and take action if needed
