Ready for Lunch

Lunch Accounts

You can bring $1.75 and give it to the cashier or you can open an account and desposit money. To open an account talk to the cafeteria manager. A good amount of money to desposit would be about $50.00. You will get a number which will hold your account. Then the next time you come to lunch walk over to the lunch line, grab a plate and utencils, get your food and then say your number. It will take $1.75 off the amount of money you desposited. Say the number to the cashier and you can go sit down. You will be notified if you have five dollars or less. Then tell your guardian to desposit more money.

You can buy extra snacks such as popcicles, chips, liquids, yogurt, cookies and more things like that. The extra items are $0.25 through $0.75. There are always at least two main beverages.

Red and Green Cups

When you sit down there will be red cups and greens cups under the red ones. There is one on every table. When red cups are on top of the green ones you can't talk. After about 10 minutes into lunch the cups are switched to green. Then you can start talking. If you are talking on red cups you will get warned and after a while if you keep on talking you will get your card flipped.. If most of your classmates are talking, then you will lose your class star. You do not want to lose your star.

Lunch Star Behavior

If your class talks when there is still green cups you will lose your star behavior. Your class will get some warnings before your star is taken away. There are lots of other ways to lose your star. If you misbehave at lunch then you have a pretty good chance of losing your star. Here are some examples that often make classes lose stars. Throwing food, yelling, shouting when whistle is blown, and talking in line when waiting for recess. At the end of each month, the class with the most stars gets to hang the star behavior banner over their classroom door and receives a treat. One class from each grade level receives a treat, but only the class with the most stars has the banner.

Table Washers

Table washers will wash the tables and sweep the floors after lunch. There will be three table washers for each class. This job will be temporary (for one week) and you can not choose if you want to be one. Everyone takes turns.Your class will wait for you and the other table washers to finish, then you will go have recess.

To wash the tables go grab a water bottle or a broom and then start cleaning.
