About Pieces of Gold

Pieces of Gold is a big music, dance, and drama art contest that any elementary, middle or high school can audition for. It was created in the early 1990s by Elizabeth Grimes. You may show off your talent with chorals, drama, dance, solo or duet. She made it as a talent showcase, not a competition. All members work throughout five months with their teachers to audition and perform at a huge theater. All members are judged by ten random judges. More than 800 kids perform in the show!!!! This great show lets people know how much talent they really do have.

In 2008 the show will be held in the Memorial Auditorium at the BTI Center. It is on the 12th of March at 6:00 PM. This performance is for the pure enjoyment of the audience. This event is also sponsored by Wake Education Partnership.

Washington has been very lucky to be included every year except one. Washington has auditioned every year including this year. Washington has been selected to perform this year too!!!!!!!!!!!!!
